Preventing Workplace Heat Illness - Indoor and Outdoor - California Version

“Heat is the leading cause of death among all weather-related phenomena in the US.” -- OSHA, This 60-75 minute e-learning course will give you the tools to understand what heat stress/heat illness is, how to prevent it, and how to help a co-worker suffering heat illness symptoms.
This course is for employers, supervisors and workers in California. It is an in-depth training in the current Cal/OSHA outdoor regulation and the new indoor regulation that went into effect on July 24, 2024.   • Identify the conditions under which an indoor work area is subject to all provisions of this standard.
  • Compare and contrast indoor and outdoor rules for shade/cool-down area.
  • List 3 actions an employer must take in high heat conditions (outdoor) and emergency response (indoor and outdoor).
  • Act appropriately when an emergency response is necessary.
  • List 5 requirements for employee training.
  • List the 4 requirements to be included in the Heat Injury and Illness Prevention Plan that apply to both indoor and outdoor.
